Garden party on a sunny afternoon

On a sunny afternoon, the Midweek Fellowship held its annual garden party on Wednesday 2 June 2010 in the beautiful garden and home of Gill Dickinson in Leigh, ten miles from Worcester city centre. Following short opening devotions led by Martin Cox and Win Eke with a couple of belting hymns, a bring-and-buy stall opened and guests wandered through the house and grounds enjoying the fine weather and rural location. Adults relaxed and chatted in the shade, youngsters played games on the lawn, toddlers blew bubbles and proud grandparents and great grandparents introduced babes in arms to the guests.

Shortly afterwards, tea, sandwiches, cakes and strawberries and cream were served on the patio, providing a delicious spread. (Methodist never miss an opportunity for preparing and consuming good food!) Thanks go to Gill Dickinson for opening her home for this delightful event and to all those people who catered, collected, ran and sold items from the stall, and provided valet parking for a large collection of cars. It was a perfect afternoon and a joyous event.
Proceeds from the stall and a collection raised almost £130.00 for the British Heart Foundation.
